That's my edition, and I never noticed the towers (possibly because my copy was bought used and rather battered).

BTW, I read Snow Queen as a teenager and thought Sparks/Moon was the most romantic couple EVAR. I would probably reconsider that now.

It would be interesting to see how romantic plots are experienced over a person's lifespan.

Some authors learn a more nuanced view of romance over time. Or become jaded instead.
