Time Found Again

Trapped in a marriage fractured by his self-centered indifference, the protagonist is tempted to use a mysterious ability to visit the past to marry a woman there to whom he feels an affinity, at least for the moment. Happily this proves unnecessary as his wife realizes the secret to true happiness is complete and utter subjugation to her husband.

Huh.

Ah, the 1950s. Another decade it takes a certain selective blindness to feel nostalgia for.

Eh, that stretch of Mad About You where Jamie grovels to wossface because some guy kissed her (his idea, not her) isn't so different and that was the 1990. Weird thing: no women writing that show at the time.

I hated that story line. And how it ended. Hated.

Two steps forward, one back. Wash, rince, repeat.

Brilliant

Brilliant fantasy, although not an unusual one to my mind, yet one which is welcome to my soul...this very minute. Because it is a universal yearning to escape to fantastic world of dreams. But we know, at least on this day, that it would never happen, it would never work...and one should consider that we should always TRY to "love the one we're with."
