Pity I did not clarify this before hauling three canes across Kitchener

When I say "size a cane", I mean cut it to fit the user. When the medical supply place I talked to says "size a cane", they mean "measure it and tell the user how long it should be". Their canes are adjustable so they've never had a need to be able to trim them.

I now have a new mask. The brand new straps I bought last week won't fit it (different company) so I basically pissed away $70.00 for nothing; they are not even good as spares. But I have a new mask.

It's a bit odd

To read an SF book where the author apologizes for his implausible nuclear rockets, where "implausible" means delta vee of tens of km/s after decades of intensive and highly motivated R&D, and where a mission down to Mercury's orbit means as a side-effect frequent checks throughout the rest of their lives to make sure the crew doesn't die of radiation-induced cancer.
