Were you trying to get < & > around it? And used the actual characters? If so, the strings got treated as HTML and disappeared. If you could edit the comment, you'd probably find them still there. For < you use "& l t ;" (without the spaces), and for > you use "& g t ;" (ditto).

Back during the first wave of hilarity re: Helix, Sanders made it clear that he believes that LJ account holders personally endorse all comments made in response to a post. Perhaps that is why he reads a grudge into your utterly neutral link in the previous post.

Google's cache of Helix's submissions policy reads:
