The proportion of those who support retaliatory measures in response to Trump’s tariffs has grown since January. There has been a six- to eight-point increase in support for three policy responses, including a blanket 25-per-cent tariff on U.S. goods (66% support), targeted tariffs on key U.S. imports (70%), and a ban on critical Canadian exports to the U.S. (65%).

Many of us Americans agree with you. I wouldn't mind if Canada took over my state (California). I had just pre-ordered a new solar watch from a company in Canada. I pre-paid for it as well. (This is a company I've ordered from before so I'm not worried about them taking the money and running.) I emailed them yesterday to make sure that these new stupid tariffs won't suddenly jack up the price of the watch, which isn't available for some months yet. (It's Solios - they're solar-powered. I love the one I have - it's big but very lightweight. They're coming out with a smaller version (unfortunately without a second hand, but that's too common for women's watches) which I ordered in a different color of metal from the one I have.)

On a similar note, I've been wishing for a while that New Mexico could somehow expel Lea County and force Texas to annex it. It just recently occurred to me that that would raise the average intelligence of both states.
