I was about to say 'at least Justin Hammer's head doesn't look like a butt plug', but that's not Leon Skum, it's Marc Andreesen or however it's spelled I can't be bothered to look it up.
I hate movies in macular-degeneration-vision too. Will someone please turn on a fcking light?!!
Also the premise in Knight Moves of people having to leave Earth to gain an extended life reminds me somewhat of Scalzi's Old Man's War. When a person reaches 75, they can leave Earth to join the ... space marines?... and their minds are transferred into a young enhanced cloned body. They must serve in the off planet armed forces for a minimum amount of time, and as long as they re-up they continue to keep young cloned bodies. Once they retire, they are transferred to a standard young-but-aging body, and are required to live on a colony planet. They are not allowed to return to Earth or to contact anyone on Earth. I believe this is all to keep people on Earth ignorant of what goes on in the greater universe, although I can't remember why.
