How are people finding this LJ? My .sigfile, through mutual friends, googling subjects or what?

I just read it off of [livejournal.com profile] unixronin's Friends page and I've got no clue how he found it in the first place.

We do tend to quote you about the English language.

Through rasfw, I think. I can't remember if you or someone else mentioned that you've got an lj.

RASFF for me. Even when trolls tried their worst and I'd kill file a thread you where always looking for the good. I highly respect that.

Mutual friends - I've no idea which one, off the top of my head. I used to lurk in a few SF newsgroups, and remembered you as someone worth reading, so when I saw your LJ username...

My wife, [livejournal.com profile] cheshyre kept saying, "Hey, have you seen what James Nicoll just wrote", (usually about cats), and eventually told me to friend you so she wouldn't have to keep telling me to check out what you wrote.

[livejournal.com profile] burger_eater linked to a post were someone asked if you could go back in time and change one thing what would it be? And then you said, I wonder how long it would take for someone to pick something that would result in the deaths of millions. And then you said it was the first one.

And even though I don't know what the hell a "Benderite" is, I thought that was kind of funny. So, now you know about my high standards for friending someone.

Do you watch FUTURAMA? It has a robot character who has been known to mutter "Kill all humans" [1] in his sleep. There is a sequence where he is shown to have claimed that he always secretly said "except one" but this probably never really happened.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bender_Bending_Rodriguez

1: I think he muttered "Hey, sexy momma, want to kill all humans" once but the additional phrase didn't seem to make his (human) roomie any happier.

Recognised your name from RASFW, particular the English Language Beats Up Others And Takes Their Vocabulary thing. Then somebody I read linked you, and I said "that guy has a livejournal? Sweet."

In his sff.net newsgroup, [livejournal.com profile] lwe said "I want to be James Nicoll when I grow up." Then he quoted something funny.

When I saw you on someone else's friends list, I added you to mine. You were one of the first people on my flist.

Mutual friends. And remembered you from when I was more active on rasff.

BTW, when I first got started on LJ and occasionally for fun I use the utility at: http://www.petekrawczyk.com/lj_connect/ to find how I connect to other LJ users. I found that most of the "hops" start off with you. :-)

I usually find it via my friendslist.

It's been on my friendslist so long that I have no memory whatsoever how it got there.
