You posted in my LJ or I noticed a comment of yours on my readinglist or I noticed you on the readinglist of someone on my readinglist list. I forget which; I suspect the first.
I've been following your posts on Usenet for many years. I think lwe was the first to mention the existence of your LiveJournal in my (virtual) presence, but whoever it was, as soon as I found out about it I went to add you.
Via a newsgroup that has nothing to do with sf (well, except in the sense that all newsgroups do). I'm so old-school.
I'm also probably one of your few readers who really knew next-to-nothing about you before looking in on this journal, so it's been my pleasure to discover it here, bit by bit. And now, of course, I know it's not an exaggeration. (-;
1. manymany mutual friends 2. mutual community commenting? maybe 3. mutual past involvement with newsgroup a.p.? if my memory serves correctly, which it often doesn't 4. dunno. 5. hi!
Don't remember. If you ever mentioned it on rasfw and sibling groups then probably from there; I think you were the first non-personal-friend blog I started following regularly.
I actually still read rasfw, but only by retrieving posts of about a dozen people, and then following up on anything they find interesting. You're one of the dozen, and so is LWE.
Saw you comment somewhere on someone whose journal I read.
I first noticed you during the "Nicoll threads" era on RASFW. I find your stuff informative and amusing, and you demonstrate similar tastes in SF, so I tend to look up your usenet posts fairly regularly. You referenced you LJ in a post when you started it. Content tends to parallel usenet activity, but commentary varies.
I picked up the link you posted on SHWI - these days, I read it by searching for about 6 names, and reading what they post, and you're one of the names. :-)
Partly through your .sig on your rasfw posts. That's not what got me onto LJ in the first place though; credit for that was my book group, which has an LJ presence. After finally getting around to setting up an LJ account, I added you to my friends list and started reading your entries.

I don't know. It's been a while. I kind of vaguely feel like someone, somewhere, said you had an LJ... LWE?
Either that or the cats added you when I wasn't looking.
