It's time to have the same conversation about Seattle and US worldcons in general in Project 2025 America as we had about the Chengdu WorldCon.

WorldCon choices look a bit grim: this year, the US. Next year, the US. Montreal is the only bid I know of in 2027. Year after that, Brisbane or Kigali. Dublin is the sole bid for 2029, Edmonton sole bid in 2030, and fucking _Texas_ in 2031.

Montreal is nice enough but Edmonton is in Alberta, Canada's Texas, and their current premier is currently vying for membership in the Quisling club. Both are within filibuster range of the US.

Plus, that whole "Dave McCarty and pals decide to throw the votes out the window" thing from a year ago seems to have been memory-holed. If SMOFs would fuck with the Hugo in a misguided attempt to placate the Xi that lives in their brain, what will they do under Trump?

Obviously, anything Amazon has to go. Did either Apple or B&N give Trump money?

(Did _Chapters?_ I wouldn't expect it)

I guess I will go back to just linking to the publisher.
