Ontario is holding municipal elections, which cover everything from mayors to school boards. For historical reasons, Ontario has two parallel publicly funded school systems, one public (functionally Protestant until recently) and one Catholic. A number of Separate School candidates got left off the ballot. The solution is to void that section of the election until proper ballots can be produced.

Well, FOUR parallel publicly funded school systems, if you want to be pedantic; there are separate officials for each of the official languages for each of the effectively official religions.

I'd say running four school systems in parallel sounded complicated and inefficient but, well... *gestures vaguely at everything about the US political system* If it works it works, right?
