It's been fairly popular to adapt to movies, television, and anime. Two movies, a TV series, and this year, an anime series on Netflix. Didn't watch it as it looked to have all the elements of a bad disaster movie.

Well, that's disappointing. There's way too much foreign sf and alternate history that either gets no translation or a crappy one.
