There were a few reasons that I did not get into tabletop roleplaying until my late 20s; a lot of them had to do with the 'quirks' of the men who were running and playing the games that I was introduced to.

And, I mean, I do enjoy a good ol'-fashioned game of diplomancy as much as the next person. Sessions without combat can be a ton of fun. But sometimes, y'just want to hit something really, really hard, too.

My guy friends whom I played D&D with notoriously refused to play Paranoia with me because I was too competitive.

I mean, isn't that the point of that one? :P It's implied right there in the name: don't trust anyone; don't let them get you. 'Anyone' and 'them' rightfully includes your party members...
