I have a system that has the side effect of doing that: my ritual check to make sure I have money and house keys involves reaching in pockets, so I would notice if I wasn't wearing any.

I was dressed and ready to go a month or so back, or so I thought. When I went to put my work keys in my pocket I realized I had on boxers* but no pants.

*I use men's boxer shorts under dress pants because they are *so* comfortable.

I occasionally wear men's nylon boxer briefs under the shorts I wear when I ride my bike (i.e., under non-bike-specific shorts). I almost went out wearing just them yesterday.
