In defense of my old teachers

james_davis_nicollNow that I think about it, most of the teachers I had were pretty good. In particular, I don't recall any duds in the science courses and only one in English.
Gym teachers were mostly useless for me [1]. I think they had no real interest in any student as manifestly lousy at sports as I was. Actually, I think they hated me for taking up valuable time. If they had ever mastered the stone point or fire I could have been in real trouble. As it was, the only time I ever got a teacher angry enough to scream at me, it was a gym/health teacher who took offense to my pointing out that getting formally married made very sense from a tax point of view.
1: Except for the one who fired a fast ball at my head to see if I was paying attention (No).
