I was something more than halfway through watching Warm Bodies when I realized it was a retelling. (Specific thoughts: "Huh, balcony, you know, this would be just like R&J if that were... her... nurse? Crap, I'm an idiot.")

Delusion's Master is my favorite Lee, but this & Drinking Saphire Wine are right behind it. Haven't read any since .... wow, early90's at least, so not sure if I would still feel the same, but these three definitely left the strongest impression. So, no, not alone at all.

I like her choice of names. Evocative of the original but with a twist. Just from his name, I cannot imagine "Romulan Montargo" living a boring life--this is definitely someone who is going to get into exciting trouble.

Interesting; a part of _Night's Sorceries_ which I just read is a reworking of _A Midsummer Night's Dream_.

Lee had started work on this book when The Silver Metal Lover ambushed her. She put down Sung in Shadow to write Silver, then came back to Shadow. Interesting compare and contrast on ways to rework the same basic story inspiration.
