Passionfruit ice cream is almost universally terrible.

Do you like passionfruit? I ask because I quite like passionfruit gelati, and I don't like real passionfruit. So maybe I liked the gelati because it's such a travesty that it would revolt all the people who appreciate real passionfruit.

Regular passionfruit's okay. I've only had gelato once, but I expect the passionfruit taste would work better with the Italian style.

I've never had passionfruit ice cream, but passionfruit yogurt is gross for reasons I can't entirely articulate.

Considering my reaction to passionfruit in a dessert I once had (almost gag, be unable to get taste out of my mouth for hours, and steer clear of eating it ever again even this many years later), I can readily believe that.

The local tropical ice cream store makes a very good passionfruit ice cream, or so folk who love passionfruit tell me. Of course, the owners come from Jamaica and serve a local Latino population that runs heavily to Salvadoreans, so it's not too suprising.

I suspect that real passionfruit is good, but the juice & the ice cream etc. taste overly-sweet and not right.

Mango sorbet, OTOH, tastes delicious - at least if it's made with real mango pulp.

No argument there. A good mango sorbet is one of the finer things in life.
