I just went shopping.
Logically, shouldn't a low number of carts in the store's cart depots mean that there's a lot of people in the store? But it doesn't. Tonight there were almost no carts and also almost no people.

Date: 2007-03-18 12:48 am (UTC)There's still, even after last week's rains, a couple of mountains of snow in the lots with carts sticking out of them.
Yesterday, lots of people deserting carts next to where they parked because manhandling them even a few more feet thru the snow was too much. (I guess.)
The isles and also the cart docks were pretty empty.

Date: 2007-03-18 09:58 pm (UTC)I frequently take the abandoned cart in with me, as my cart, unless it has too much of the chrome worn off. If the chrome is chipped/worn, I leave it on the sidewalk and get a better one. I can't push with my left hand so I leave it loosely over the handle and chrome and when the chrome is chipped, I get it in my hand.
