It's been my impression that British SFF is more sexist than US by a long shot. As I recall, there were 0 female authors being published or under contract for SF a couple of years ago, and not sure there are any now. And the social/con circles seem super, super blokey and insular.

The situation has improved somewhat, both for British debuts, and more stuff first published in the US is getting published in the UK - Karen Lord, Cherie Priest, Kameron Hurley, etc.
