Dunno; that still sounded like Justin Hayward to me (singing "Forever Autumn").

Also, Liam Neeson is no Richard Burton.

The original is in bits and pieces on YouTube; I've seen some of it.

More proof that ignorance can be bliss, sometimes.

I am not sure about this, I don't think anyone can replace Richard Burton, but I am willing to give Liam Neeson a try.

The original WotW is one of my fave concept albums of ALL TIME.

Can you improve on perfection... I will give it a go.

Having listened to the trailer -- no, he can't replace Richard Burton. But he gave it a damn good go. And someone has almost managed to pull off Justin Hayward's part. If I didn't have the One True Album permanently engraved on my neurons, I'd be pretty impressed by this.

I am amused to note that the formats it will be available in are download, CD, and... vinyl. I wonder how many people will buy the vinyl simply to get a fresh set of the illustrations?

Irritatingly, the stage show will playing not far from me next month - for one night, on a night I can't get there. :-(

The someone with Justin Hayward's part is Gary Barlow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Barlow), frontman & songwriter of 90s UK boy band Take That, who split for a decade and reformed. During the off time Barlow was made fun of as a sad loser sitting unwanted in his mansion getting fat while ex-bandmate Robbie Williams went on to solo success of a certain coolth. Since Take That reformed they made loadsamoney and Barlow became a charity-working national treasure and establishment figure, assigned to organise things like the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert in front of Buckingham Palace this past summer, for which he wrote a song with Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

Anyway, forget him - not a Take That fan. But I was a Moody Blues fan back in the 1970s (fan of their Core Seven albums from 1967-1972 anyway) and I prefer Hayward's vocal.

I prefer Hayward's vocal, but the snippet from Barlow in that trailer suggests that if Wayne *must* make TNG, Barlow was a good choice.

Still regretting not seeing the tour a couple of years ago, as I suspect that was my last real chance to see Hayward live. I had the highly irritating experience [mumble] years ago of him being on tour and doing my university town during the vacation, and my home town during term, which meant I didn't get to see him at all. :-/

Liam's phone conversation with the invading aliens practically writes itself.
