J. Robert (Bob) Verdun

Despite the initial name name format of his listed name, he isn't a libertarian. (http://www.bobverdun.com/index.html)

I assume when in his bio he says "Withdrew from Civil Engineering to pursue an opportunity as editor of the national-award-winning campus newspaper, which was a full-time position in 1969," he is referring to the Chevron. Well after Verdun's day, the Chevron was taken over by a cabal of Marxist-Leninists, stripped of its official standing at UW and eventually dwindled into nonexistance.

If I recall correctly, the paid positions continued at the CHEVRON's replacement, the IMPRINT, until another coup was staged, this time by a poet whose name I forget. The vulnerability of the campus paper to take-overs by small groups still hasn't been fixed as far as I know.

As expected, Hazel is still Queen of Mississauga (oops, I mean mayor *g*). Our local Councillor got re-elected with a health margin, too. Our school board trustee incumbent decided to run for city council in a newly created ward, and got elected. So we have a new trustee. None of the candidates for trustee made much of an impression, so we'll have to see how the person who actually got in does. So, other than Carolyn Parrish getting elected to city council (pity), no surprises here.

Can someone remind me which Southern Ontario town kept re-electing a virulent anti-semite?
