The Geneva-based Doctors Without Borders said bluntly: "There is little sign of significant aid distribution."
The aid group complained of skewed priorities and a supply bottleneck at the U.S.-controlled airport. Doctors Without Borders spokesman Jason Cone said the U.S. military needed "to be clear on its prioritization of medical supplies and equipment."

Date: 2010-01-19 01:15 am (UTC)I continue to be amazed how poorly prepared the southern US is for hurricanes. One would think they could upgrade their building codes, utility infrastructure, and emergency response systems to the point where they could handle without outside assistance weather conditions that occur every few years. Perhaps the nearby states should start mocking the Gulf states mercilessly rather than rushing to the rescue.
