The Geneva-based Doctors Without Borders said bluntly: "There is little sign of significant aid distribution."

The aid group complained of skewed priorities and a supply bottleneck at the U.S.-controlled airport. Doctors Without Borders spokesman Jason Cone said the U.S. military needed "to be clear on its prioritization of medical supplies and equipment."

I doubt if he was out on the runway personally -- he was in his late 30s when the war started, with fifteen years or so experience as a PE. He never talked much about his war, but I suspect he wore his rank on his shoulder rather than his sleeve.

Only reason I know about this at all is that we somehow got talking about live coral as a paving material. They dredged the stuff out of the lagoon and rolled it.
