Epiphany

A while back Groucho realized he can rest his face between two radiator pipes and warm his head that way. He really likes that.

Just now he got up on his hind legs to get my attention. He likes to put his front paws on something to brace himself (the vanity, a couple of times Tapestry) and this time it was the radiator. I could actually see him realize he can warm his whole tummy if he leans against the radiator that way. He was still hugging the rad when I left.

Stock phrases

Having noted stock phrases re-used a few times in some old SF I was looking at (specifically, how one character always bares his teeth in combat), I wonder if modern word processors makes avoiding that sort of thing easier or harder?

There were some old time authors - I'm looking at you, EC Tubb and Ed McBain - who I would swear had rubber stamps with certain stock phases on them.
