A combination of the pitch of the narrator's voice, poor sound quality on the mp3 and ambient noise on the bus means both Absalome and To See The Invisible Man were pretty much unintelligible to me. Pity, I was looking forward to comparing the second one to The City and the City.

Jul. 28th, 2012 11:51 amThat the whole Pesky Sister Obsessed with Boys and with Stopping Her Dynamic Brothers From Doing Stuff dynamic of Phineas and Ferb is problematic at best, the "a baby's cry makes all the adult women across Danville abandon whenever they are doing to march zombie-like to the source of the sound" bit was an unfortunate creative decision.
I misread the title of this

My brain inserted a superfluous "m" into "moron" so I was expecting a tale of bitter culture clash between Bruce Wayne, supposed playboy, and his straight-arrow LDS roommates. Presumably this would have been during Wayne's previously undocumented BYU years.

The CW is reportedly developing a show based on the cult Japanese movie Battle Royale.
Battle Royale, the movie, is the one that demonstrated to me, much to my surprise, that in fact I am not 100% desensitized to violence in movies as civilized person should but in fact don't care to watch kids being killed.
The movie is based on a book, reviewed here. There is also a manga, which adds a ton of gratuitous graphic rape: I strongly advise avoiding the manga.
