Interesting to me
May. 29th, 2012 12:27 pmI spent the afternoon at Waterloo Public Library and having finished my book decided to see if any of the books I used to sign out in the 1970s were still there (not the same titles but the actual same physical objects). Turned out there were two:

My working theory is that as Heinlein books, there's enough of an established audience for these not to pitched in favour of more popular books but as some of the worst Heinlein books, not so much of an audience that they got worn out by repeated readings.
Many of the authors whose books I got out from the WPL in the 1970s -Anderson and Silverberg, for example - are still present but only in recent editions. Others, like Simak or Pangborn, have essentially vanished. Simak's City is present but nothing else and nothing by Pangborn.
