AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I can't help but feel that if the Liberals had managed to space out their scandals a bit better, with, oh, at least a week or two between them, it would have helped them a lot in this election. Also, maybe next time they want to try a campaign that sucks less.

Jack Layton emulates Nader in 2000 as he urges Liberal voters to make the Conservative victory even more overwhelming. I am not sure why he thinks this would be a good idea. Perhaps it's the prospect of a massive deficit under the ReformaTories or maybe he just hates Canada.

What's the average lifespan for Presidents, excluding those who died or were killed in office, as compared to the lifespans of their contemporaries? Do they live longer or does the stress of the job wear them down?

What's the fewest number of former Presidents that have been alive at a given time? If Ford [1] doesn't make it, that leaves us with, hrm, Clinton, Bush and Carter, right?

ObCanCon: Former PMs who could be said to be alive include Chretien, Campbell, Mulroney, Turner and quite possibly Paul Martin. At 76, Turner is the oldest former PM.

1: Rather interestingly for a man who once had his finger on the Button, according to Herman Kahn Ford was one of two people Kahn met in the 1960s who could not grasp the idea of a limited response in the context of nuclear weapons.

We're getting freezing rain. Not too bad yet, so I dashed out to the big green box for sand for the walk and the driveway. Used up most of it getting back the front door so I made a second trip.

The lights have been flickering. That can't be good.
