Palin ran into a public relations blowback when she mentioned that Alaska was bigger than Texas in a speech delivered in Texas.

You know, Texas may be only the second largest state in the union but if you divide Alaska in two, that would make Texas the third largest state in the Union.

That's because everything is bigger in Texas... including Texas. I'm sure that splitting it into five states would somehow get you five Texases all bigger and better than the original.
