I hear this all the time, but like most USians and Canadians, I grew up in a middle class suburb, where we knew fully well that we weren't the richest people in the whole world, but that didn't seem to cause burning resentment - everyone seemed fairly content. I think revolutions are much more likely to originate from disparities in rights rather than disparities in wealth.
