Read PSS, really wish I hadn't (due to author plot choice, not writing style). Haven't read anything else by Miéville.

I had the same "done with this author" feeling with Mary Gentle after the sequel to Golden Witchbreed.

That was a shock. I did read more of her work, with my favorites being Ash and Ilario.

My reaction to reading Perdido Street Station was essentially: this is the most visually evocative writing I've ever read (note: I barely have a visual imagination), and the setting is rich and creative albeit completely crapsack. And now I never have to read this or anything else by this author ever again.
