"Show programs" in the sense of the order that things are performed on stage, or "show programs" in the sense of booklets or folded pieces of paper given to the audience as they arrive listing details about the performances?
The latter. Show programs present clients with a number of trade-offs: do you print one per patron (ensuring wasted money because not everyone wants a program)? Or one per group (ensuring patrons will be pissed off when the programs run out early). Or are QR codes the way to go (even though people without mobiles cannot use them)?
Print on demand, but "laser" printing can be unwholesome if not in a well ventilated area. I used to get colds a lot at work. I worked in a little office, next to a big printer. It took a while for me to notice that printing gave me a cold, which I suppose is either from ozone or from the microscopic "toner" dust. Perhaps modern printers are safer - I'm talking about around... 1992.
