Is Nightfall the Asimov story or an anthology under that name? I'm trending "Kraken Wakes", myself...

Which one offers the greatest opportunity for going horribly wrong? We need entertainment, after all.

Yeah, me and Canadian radio drama kind of have a ... history so either one is risky.

So...it is all above-board, then?

Someone whose credentials I totally did not vet assured me so on friends of the cbc.

I said Vanishing Point only because its description sounds a lot like a 1980s-ish scifi show I saw on PBS as a kid. Of course I don't remember the name; when do I ever remember the name?

Since they were on CBC, I may have heard some of each series when they were first aired so I likely heard them when they were released in the order they were released except for Kracken Wakes because I don't remember hearing that before.

I said Nightfall because [livejournal.com profile] audioboy is such a huge fan. I've seen a few of their scripts produced as staged audio; I think I almost got cast as the narrator/murderer in "The Tell-Tale Heart" (but the guy they went with was way better than me).

Do they have Court of Ideas up? I couldn't find it, but it was hands-down my favourite series in the 80s.

Does not look like it.

If "Vanishing Point" is the Jonathan Brand story, I'd be interested to know how it was done (the story is a tale told to the narrator's daughter, and "it's kind of sad").

It was a CBC radio play series.

Yes, I meant the style of the performance -- is it still narrated to the daughter, for example.

Unless you meant that "CBC radio play" indicates a set performance style.

No, I mean it was an radio play anthology series in which many different stories were performed. Not a radio adaptation of the specific story Vanishing Point.

Ah, darn. It struck me that the story would have been well-suited for a radio performance. Oh well.

Well, my experience with listening to CBC 40 years years ago does lead me to expect 40 minutes of gloomy social dysfunction followed up by 10 minutes of catastrophe.

So that's why CBC did such a good job with "A Canticle for Leibowitz".

You have told somebody, or you have been told? My parser's stuck.
