Likewise. I bought Jurgen when it was reprinted (1965 or so, before Ballantine Adult Fantasy) and was amused by the opening line: "A demon ran off with my wife, poor fellow." On about page 60 he said it for the third time, and nothing else had amused me, so I quit.
