I had some music playing in the background and I caught myself thinking "Oh, the sound track Local Hero. I haven't heard that in a while." It's actually music that Knopfler did for Cal.

The Cal soundtrack has some gorgeous music in it. I must listen to it again Tuesday (I think it would sooth my worried brow). Ditto the soundtrack to Local Hero.

The movie Cal is excellent too, if sad, but it's not that easy to find.

Interesting bit of synchronicity - the Sunday morning National Public Radio program had a feature on "this overlooked film". I saw the movie at our university theater, which would be sometime between its 1983 release and when I left in 1985.
