HAMLET is one of Shakespeare's most recognizable works. What if Hamlet's classic lines about self destruction and self slaughter were the beginning of a conversation about mental health?

Meet Thelma.

Thelma's father has recently died, her mother has just married her uncle and her world is spinning out of control.

The film uses the original Shakespearean text and the magic of dance to tell the story of a young girl who seems to be losing a battle with depression.

That sounds interesting. I'd like to see it. There is something very valuable[1] about student productions because different budget issues rule.

[1] - I can't think of a word that isn't limiting. Student productions have a freedom that commercial theatre does not (while having its own limits, yes), and so some interesting ideas get to be tried out.

Interesting coincidence; I was reviewing material for an online course here in work on how to deal with people calling us who are in emotional or psychological distress. The idea of coopting Hamlet into the story of Thelma seemed very a propos in that light...
