Your Plucky IRS Agent might find their job is made tougher by the hero of The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant, by Drew Hayes. The first one sounds like a typical "introduced to the supernatural" story, but by the sequel Fred has apparently tried to get back into his old routine.

"Myths and legends, as it turns out, are not so great at taking appropriate deductions and keeping their receipts, and Fred is more than happy to return to a life others view as woefully dull, expanding his accounting business to cater to various monsters and their respective financial needs."

I haven't read either yet, but I've got the first one on order for my library and I'm looking forward to it. I enjoyed Hayes' Pears And Perils, and the chapter or two I've read of NPCs was fun enough.
