She'd better not ever attend another Worldcon in the USA, or many other SF/F conventions in the USA either: Most US Worldcons and many other fan-run SF/F events in the USA are run by 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organizations. (Even a huge one like ComicCon in San Diego.) OTOH, presumably for-profit SF conventions like DragonCon are okay with her.

(I'm on the boards of two California non-profit 501(c)(3) corporations, one of which ran the 1993 and 2002 Worldcons and is bidding to host the 2018 Worldcon. I'm also the person who did most of the state and federal paperwork for both of them. And I did something similar for an Alberta non-profit society that ran a Westercon in Calgary.)
