When I began interviewing Moira Greyland about her experiences with her mother, Marion Zimmer Bradley, I told her that I'd also be interested in interviewing her brother, Mark Greyland. She checked with Mark, he and I chatted, and he graciously agreed. This interview is the result.

"mother" is specifically Marion Zimmer Bradley.

Since, historically, blame has attached to Breen and not Bradley, whose role, awareness, and responsibility were considered highly debatable, I feel that perhaps it is not necessary in this instance to make a point of diluting Bradley with Breen.

Either would have sufficed.

Breen raped Moira when she was five, so he was also personally abusive to his children, not just generically bad. But as I said in a previous comment, perhaps the most terrible commentary you can make on MZB's abuse is that their children remember the manipulative, narcissistic pedophile who raped one of them as the *less* monstrous of the two.

The full context is that part of Breen's '97 trial involved not just the issue of Breen abusing David (the eldest son) but that Breen was also introducing David to other pedophiles Breen was friends with to be abused.

I do not mean dilution of the entirely lamentable results as inflicted on Breen and Bradley's children.

I mean dilution of the culpability, responsibility, and blame which properly rests on Marion Zimmer Bradley. Let us by no means dilute that with co-conspirators and enabled monsters.

Basically at one point the issue of David getting propositioned by someone called Robert Bashlow comes up and MZB is all like "oh sure I knew about that but David was totes all of 13 so a fully autonomous sexual adult in my eyes so what could I have done?"
