On watching the unnamed cat stride around, I don't think he's been fixed.

You know about territory behaviour, I'm sure.

You said he was 8 months old already in another post? Do it, do it now. Past time.

Might be why he was out on his own. Either he took a stroll looking for a sweetie; or he displayed intact male cat behavior, and was given the boot.

He doesn't have a name yet????

Well, I like "Doom on Four Paws" or "Doom Kitty" for a name. :)

Doompaw?

This is a fine beer:

Though I have no idea of James' taste in drink.

But if he's named after Doom, won't all the other cats tease him for being afraid of Squirrel Girl? Even though, well, it's Squirrel Girl... I'm sure it's still embarrassing for cats.

After one Google later, I now have a new favorite superhero! Doreen Green, Squirrel Girl!

Careful, she's a gateway drug to Furrydom!

So... One cat called "Unnamed" and another called "Nameless"?

That could make for hilarious quotes in the future.

My father-in-law's cat got fixed in a manner that left him looking cosmetically semi-intact. I wouldn't assume that, though.

That's fairly common in cats, as they tend to heal in such a way as to suggest the presence of testicles (although if you had an intact male to compare to, you'd see the size difference). In dogs, we can do implants to keep the owners from feeling the loss.

And for truck owners, I always think the same thing: "those aren't proportionally large enough -- never mind."

Unless you're planning to keep him indoors forever (Anne Frank lifestyle), why traumatize him? Our intact toms saved their urine for marking the outside borders of their territory -- ie far outdoors. (A cat-door helps.)

I live in a neighborhood where the lifespan for outdoor cats is often measured in months (traffic and FIV).
