Ugh, sorry. No, that's not something you'd want your existing cats exposed to, is it? My sympathies for the felines affected and all who might care about them.
From what I understand from a friend of mine who runs a boarding kennel, FIV isn't that transmissible, unless there's like actual blood-to-blood contact. If you have cats that have knock-down-drag-out fights, that's an issue.
James, how do you know all the feral males have FIV, out of curiosity?
My old cat Nero lived FIV+ for 13 years before he finally got done in by an unusual lymphoma that manifested as tumours. The nice people at the UofGuelph's Small Animal Clinic said it was probably a sequela of the FIV. Up until the last few months, though, he was otherwise robustly, disgustingly healthy.
