nelc is in the UK and thus probably not au courant with the Penn State child rape scandal.

nelc, San-DUS-kee is a town in Ohio. It is also the surname of the former Penn State University assistant football coach recently convicted of child rape. His superiors at the university, it appears, actively covered up his crime for years.

Hence the unfortunate coincidence here.

No coincidence at all. The "news" was made up, to highlight my outrage. Penn State coddled their miscreant; this con should not do likewise.
