Will be Icons. Streamline is OK but a bit bland. I was playing with the system and came up with a funnier character I will run on Wednesday:
Samuel Saxon is Peerless
Height: 170 cm
Weight: 60 kg
Age: 64 (October 2, 1946)
Hair: white
Prowess 5 (exceptional human)
Coordination 5 (exceptional human)
Stamina 5/7 (low superhhuman)
Intelligence 5 (exceptional human)
Awareness 6 (ideal or maximum human)
Willpower 5/7 (low superhhuman)
[5 when he's just Samuel Saxon but 7 once he puts on his costume. Presumably
there's a whole Donning the Suit of Destiny sequence whenever he suits
up]
Stamina 14
Determination 4 (+7)
Origin: Trained
Probability Control: Good Luck 7
(Used for determined efforts and retcons)
Specialities rolled 4, add three for training
Acrobatics 1
Martial Arts (Vale Tudo) 2
Investigation 1
Stealth 1
Mental Resistance 1
Weapons: Improvised 1
Aspects
Qualities: "I'm Peerless! (add vulgar epithets
to flavour if someone has pissed him off, by e.g.
not knowing who he is, being certain the real Peerless
died of old age in 1985 or urging him to rest before
he has a heart attack)
Connections: the Police
Connections: the Costumed Community
Connection: Josephine Balsamo: The Black Rose
Challenges:
Notorious Curmudgeon
Arch-Foe: Josephine Balsamo: The Black Rose
Origin: Samuel Saxon has been a costumed adventurer
since 1959, when he fought crime as a kid sidekick.
In 1965, he took the costumed ID Peerless because
false modesty is wrong. With no powers he is aware of,
he's made his way on a pure heart, determination and
skill; at his physical peak, he was very nearly as good
as he thinks he is. Now age is catching up with him but
he's determined to stay in the game, proving that one
exceptional human can keep up with all the freaks,
monsters and kids calling themselves superheroes these
day. And they're not even grateful!
He has one power and he has no idea he has it: he's
impossibly lucky. Superhuman luck has kept him well-
preserved (although his physical stats used to be
higher), rich enough not to have to work, and allows
him to get a success rate to inflate an already healthy ego.
Josephine, who is almost not the original, popped up in
the 1950s and is still around; she's his Catwoman
(jewel thief Catwoman, not the later versions) with a
touch of Kodachi Kuno. Doesn't kill. Usually avoids jail
time. She's aging a lot better than he is, so maybe she's
not lying about the exilir of immortality.
I am dithering on weapon ( ). I would have taken weapon
(melee) but that's Ian's character's thing. Instead Peerless
has bolos, ball bearings and such, within the limits of whatever
Canadian law allows. Unless weapon (projectile) is an
option. He's arrogant but will use tools if available.
[added later]
I went with Weapons (Improvised) to go with Martial Arts (Vale Tudo); Vale Tudo
basically translates as "anything goes".
(Bows, crossbows aside, seem to be pretty much unregulated in Canada.
Suddenly all those archer characters make sense....)
