I was disappointed by the last 30 seconds. Completely changed the feel ... "you're perfect .. as long as you can find a talent that lets you integrate into proper society, marry and reproduce." Which is not what I think Pink had to say.

I tink the last shot is why the last 30 seconds exist. It seemed to be saying that she would try to teach her daughter to do better than she had.

James' selection of P!nk seems to work for me, so I think I'll buy this.

The lyrics sound like they're written to a daughter, though--the video takes that idea and has the main character go through all of these self-esteem issues before finally arriving at peace with herself, and then finally telling the message to her child.

Without the daughter at the end to benefit from the lessons the mother had to learn by herself, the video would just be a meaningless illustration of something like the song's lyrics. With the child, the song takes part in the video, rather than simply being a musical accompaniment.
