More Words, Deeper Hole

I remember when my sister went to the US to work as a paramedic after one of the hurricane's flattened a bit of Florida.

I continue to be amazed how poorly prepared the southern US is for hurricanes. One would think they could upgrade their building codes, utility infrastructure, and emergency response systems to the point where they could handle without outside assistance weather conditions that occur every few years. Perhaps the nearby states should start mocking the Gulf states mercilessly rather than rushing to the rescue.
