As pointed out on FB
Sep. 26th, 2014 01:11 amRegarding Jemisin's The Fifth Season:
What a waste of time. I very disappointed in this book---no characters, no plot, not even pages! It turns out it doesn't actually exist at this point, and not for another year, so trying to read it now is fruitless. How are these other people rating it at 4 or more? WTF?
It's a bit later than usual but rejoice! For my review of Robert A. Heinlein's Starman Jones may be found at the other end of this link.
So, another idea
Sep. 26th, 2014 09:58 pmThis is a genuinely impressive collection of reviews but in 64 reviews, there are only five books by women, three of them by Le Guin.
In addition to hoping to replace the Heinlein reviews, once I am done, I am also thinking of dedicating one day a week to Anglospheric specfic by women, drawing from the entire history of ASF ("entire history" defined in my usual self-serving way). Maybe I will call it Women Did Too Write Science Fiction.
