Oregon GOP Chair proposes spooging state with nuclear waste.

Robinson, who has a Ph.D. in chemistry, has marketed himself for the last three decades as an expert on everything from nuclear fallout to AIDS to climate science in the pages of a monthly newsletter, Access to Energy, which he published from his compound in the small town of Cave Junction.

Access to Energy was founded by Petr Beckman, who also wrote The Health Hazards of Not Going Nuclear, by Ace, at that time edited by Jim Baen.

Run down Robinson's list of non-consensus scientific views and you will notice it overlaps with the late James P. Hogan's, also a Baen author (I don't really know what it is about the germ theory of disease loonitarians object to but HIV-denial seems to be a frequent eccentricity over there, in both right-libertatians, left-libertarians and hateful holocaust deniers).

Ronald M. Green's gaming convention, I discovered I remember enough about games to come in second in a trivia contest. I came away with a bundle of Different Worlds Tekumel books.

From wikipedia

Empire of the Petal Throne, published in 1975 as a boxed set by TSR, Inc. and reprinted later as a single book by Different Worlds Publications in 1987.
Swords & Glory, published in 1983/4 in two volumes by Gamescience.
Gardasiyal: Adventures in Tekumel, published in 1994 by Theater of the Mind Enterprises.
Tekumel: Empire of the Petal Throne, published in 2005 by Guardians of Order.

Aren't we due for a new edition?

(disclaimer: Tekumel dooms its publishers)

Apparently I have the sort of face that convinces a pug I am a soft touch.
