Something I only think of when I am not near a keyboard

Given the risks involved in visiting the US, wouldn't it make sense to require all future Worldcons to be held outside the US until such time as it wanders out of police state mode?

Assume a Worldcon on the island of Hawaii

Where would you hold it? On the one hand, Hilo almost certainly is the best bet for facilities. On the other, I kind of liked the Kona side of the island more.

Sadly, KMC is out; there are only 90 cabins and there's no way an entire worldcon's worth of people could be humanely stuffed into them.

Today's unwanted epiphany

The song doesn't say Willy killed Polly. It says she fell asleep and then he buried her before riding away. She could well have been alive when he started shoveling dirt on top of her.

Wait a second

Has anyone seen Romney's birth certificate? After doing all, the Republicans' previous candidate was Panamanian-born John McCain, who as far as I know avoided the tedium of a formal naturalization process through one of those big city terrorist-baby-style technicalities. Without an investigation, how do we know Romney was not born in Europe or Canada or New Mexico?

Hypothesis about New Mexico

It is not just that there's a 'mexico' in the name, it's that there are too many states to keep track of the names. How many nations have the equivalent of fifty plus provinces and territories?

Accordingly, how would you lump the states together to get a dozen or so states of roughly equal population?
