Because it looks like 4E D&D might be the next year's campaign but what would be a good quintessentially '80s name for a superhero?

The basic idea that I'm toying with is that the guy hit his PR peak around 1989 because as we know superhero rpg universes reflect the comicbooks of the time. In 1988 and 1989, wisecracking masks who enjoyed what they did but who didn't do anything unsavoury were in but by the early 1990s people wanted to hear about depressed superpowered thugs beating the crap out of other depressed superpowered thugs. Even though this guy was stilling doing what he did as competently as ever, nobody cared. Or cares. He's still sticking with his old schtick twenty years on despite the lack of acknowledgment. It's what he knows and anyway it's a lot more fun than the famous guys are having.

We did not do a stellar job of protecting our cleric last night. Happily he did not die.

Quinn did do a good job of rallying the panicked fleeing mob. Actually, too good; the whole thing could have ended tragically since the townsfolk armed with hoes, rakes and other gardening tools probably wouldn't have lasted long against the ogre or the hobgoblins. As I recall, characters like the townsfolks have one hit point each.

What's the point of the subtitle "a novel"?

Years ago, I ran a character in this campaign:

The Teen Team.

Now, I know someone has a comic about a primary school for supers and there was a movie about a high school for supers. Aside from the bits with the Hollis Mason Night Owl in Watchmen, has anyone done a retirement home for former masks?

I'm thinking of giving Speed Metal the disadvantage "Slow on the Uptake". He's not stupid and he's not unperceptive when it comes to things like hostages, thrown transport trucks or bombs but he doesn't do deduction or induction very well (-5 to applicable rolls, thus consigning him forever to playing Iron to someone else's Gold, or alternatively Everyone Who is Not Batman to someone else's Batman). Assuming a four member band (guitar, bass guitar, drums, and keyboards) what instrument would he logically play?
