Mark Steyn discovers the fiction of Tom Kratman and a genre that Steyn, despite denials, appears to have helped inspire.

Pointed out to me by Jan Vanek jr., who had it pointed out to him by the owner of this blog, which I am told may start up again soon.

The Center for American Progress's Joseph Romm is not keen on nuclear power.

Which raises the question, "If nuclear power is so inherently expensive that it cannot be a reasonable alternative, how does France manage to get 80% of its electrical power from nukes without going broke?"

I also don't quite see how Romm's chosen methods will help the nations whose future growth appears to me to be dependent on increased use of energy.

Romm has also speculated that global warming contributed to the 35 W bridge collapse.

Pointed out to me by kalmn.

Marvel at the wonders of 1951's On Becoming a Woman

Warning: Some younger readers may be surprised that people thought differently half a century ago. Other readers, less fortunate in their choice of location, won't because where they live, people don't think that differently than they did half a century ago.
