This disturbs me
Jun. 14th, 2007 01:39 pmRussian computers that control the international space station's orientation and supply of oxygen and water have failed, potentially extending the space shuttle's mission -- or cutting it short.
I'm not bothered by the failure or the fact that the shuttle might be forced to retreat home early (Did they deal with the hole in the heat-shield yet?) but this sentence:
Engineers aren't sure why computers failed that control water, oxygen
Doesn't CNN have professional word arranging guys? That should read "Engineers aren't sure why computers that control water, oxygen failed". The way they have it is an abomination.

Do it to Julia! Do it to Julia!
Jun. 14th, 2007 02:45 pmIs it just me or does poor, expendible Julia put on about 20 pounds between these two strips? I guess Johnson felt that having Julia demonstrate in public her ability to swallow coconuts whole didn't telegraph the inevitable realization that she just isn't good enough for GrAnthony.
And yes, and Anthony is a total dick for inviting Julia to an event where Liz will be, since he must know he's just going to pine over Liz.

More small icy worlds with volcanos?
Jun. 14th, 2007 07:21 pm Saturn's moons Tethys and Dione are flinging great streams of particles into space, according to data from the Cassini mission to Saturn. The discovery suggests the possibility of some sort of geological activity, perhaps even volcanic, on these icy worlds.
Tethys has a radius of about 530 kilometers while Dione has one of about 560 kilometers, very roughly twice that of Enceladus and very roughly a third that of the Moon.
