This disturbs me

Russian computers that control the international space station's orientation and supply of oxygen and water have failed, potentially extending the space shuttle's mission -- or cutting it short.
I'm not bothered by the failure or the fact that the shuttle might be forced to retreat home early (Did they deal with the hole in the heat-shield yet?) but this sentence:
Engineers aren't sure why computers failed that control water, oxygen
Doesn't CNN have professional word arranging guys? That should read "Engineers aren't sure why computers that control water, oxygen failed". The way they have it is an abomination.
